A freeze watch will be in effect in El Paso County and surrounding areas under 7,400 feet from 6 p.m. Thursday through Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo. Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid 20s, which could damage or kill outside plants and crops, the weather service said. It could also affect undrained sprinklers and exposed pipes.
