William C. Giltner played an instrumental role in shaping the Air Force Academy. But the man who helped design some of the more prominent buildings on the academy campus in northern Colorado Springs was first, and foremost, a family man. "My dad can beat up your dad. My dad is faster than your dad," said James Giltner, one of the man's six children, as he spoke at his father's funeral Nov. 14 in downtown Colorado Springs. William Giltner, 87, died Nov. 6 at his El Paso County home after a four-month fight with lung cancer.
